Jennifer Findlay, Director of Yoga As we celebrate the change of seasons, we transition from a time of increased energy, activity, and external doing, into a rhythm of internal reflection, growth and stability. The human body finds balance and health when in harmony with nature, when living in harmony with the seasons. Autumn arrives and the body now craves internal warmth and stability to counterbalance
the cooler, more dynamic and unsettled climate. Autumn is the most ideal time to
become dedicated and devoted to a consistent yoga practice that supports your own
individual growth and wellbeing. |

Dr. John Dempster, ND H1N1 virus or the Swine flu as it is commonly known, has gripped our continent in fear this
past year. It remains much in the news, but so far, the disease does not appear to be
exceptionally virulent or widespread. As of this writing, most health officials in Canada and
the U.S. are reporting regional or sporadic activity, and the proportion of deaths attributed
to pneumonia or influenza remains within the bounds of what normally happens in these
months. |

Pam Ennis, Osteopathic Manual Therapy Vaccine proponents claim the benefits of vaccination; however vaccine opponents point out the many dangers associated with vaccination. This controversy highlights just how difficult it is to make an informed decision. This article is not trying to persuade either way, but rather to discuss an option of how you |

Matthew Remski - Ayurvedic Practitioner Ayurveda is not an alternative medicine. It is humanity’s original intuitive relationship with the phenomena of the material universe. It predates our alienation from the body in the age of medical complexity. It predates our pervasive feeling of disempowerment in the midst of theories of the flesh that we cannot in our hearts understand: the biochemical, the radiological, the electrical. Ayurveda speaks for the enhancement of an inherent health that cannot be imaged by the MRI, but can be seen in the intelligence of cats and trees and children. You can’t x-ray prana, but you can experience its movements, harmonious or not, on the levels of digestion, emotional dynamism, and spiritual clarity. When these movements are visible, and comprehensible to you, you root yourself back into the world, remembering your heritage of earth, water, fire, air, and space. |

Bronwen Evans, RMT I would like to introduce myself to everyone I have not yet met at 889. My name is Bronwen and I am a registered massage therapist, graduate of Sutherland-Chan teaching school and clinic class. I have been a full time massage therapist with 889 since opening in spring 2007. I have never worked in an environment that has felt so much like family and so peaceful and healing prior to this. These past few years have flown by and I look forward to many more with 889. I treat a variety of conditions from sport injuries to postural dysfunctions but the condition
that is mentioned the most is stress. Stress is a commonly used term but not fully understood.
Many of us including our medical doctors know that stress can make us feel very ill,
indeed. Stress is a very tangible state of the neurological system. |
